New Year, New Post, New Semester, New Art.

It's been a while--summer was a whirlwind of 4 jobs and moving to the island that is long. It also went right into fall semester where grad school owned me, as well as the holiday season hell of the portrait studio. Winter break is about over and spring semester is about to begin. Sounds promising. It's going to be my goal this year to keep up with this more. I'll see how that goes, given that the social networks I'm already addicted to eat a lot of my time. I need something to keep my art links in order. this seems like the place. I guess I'll start with:

It sounds morbid. Perhaps that's what attracted me to it in the first place. It is a place of mourning for art that has to go to a better place-whether through recycling, or garbage, or other means. Just how long can art works live with an artist before it overstays its welcome? it's really interesting to think about, and I think i'll look through it more later.

love is the movement.

quick update:

-I graduated from RIT this past weekend, go me! It was amazing. I wish my parents were there, but I know they would have been proud of me. One of my favorite professors was there and him telling me that we were going to be colleagues one day made my life.

-Definitely going to SUNY Stony Brook in the fall. I got all the housing and such situated, now I just need my registration packet to go in. I'm excited.

-This summer will be full of mostly work, but I'm hoping for some fun as well. We shall see. I'm just hoping I can make it through unscathed.

-TWLOHA. To Write Love On Her Arms is something I came across while at a concert a couple of months ago. I saw it on a lot of shirts, and only recently learned what it is about. Instead of being just a crappy emo band, it's actually a non-profit organization stemmed from a girl's story of self-abuse. Being there with her myself at one point, I really relate to this and want to support it. you should too. Go to the main site, the myspace page is really cluttered with pics and vids.

School & Good Causes.

I got into SUNY Stony Brook! it's good, but I'm holding out until the end of the month to see if the CUNY Graduate Center or NYU holds out for me. I've got 9 more weeks at RIT. I've never been more excited in my life. I love graduating from school. It makes me feel accomplished.

I'm linking to a few sites because I think they are things that can help make the world a better place. I'm no millionaire but I like to give when I can. Cheers. Spring is on its way.

The Beginning of The End.

The first working version of the new website is finally up today. It only took a month. The above WWII poster is my new mantra. I'm thinking about designing a memorial tattoo with it. Winter quarter will be over this week and it's a little bit of well-deserved rest before my last spring quarter at RIT ever. Good things are on the way.

Keep on keepin' on.

Currently cranking out the capstone book for the "Media" part of the site. Also just made a Flickr for the "Pix" part. Next comes reserving my url on GoDaddy. Also on the neverending to-do list: backup my computer and pull some files up to upload on Flickr, as well as some content for the book.

I need for this quarter to be over already. 2 more weeks to get this all done.
